This model is part of our precision range of ready to runs and is produced from our famous O gauge kits which are designed using a combination of white metal castings and brass etchings. These intricate parts require a high level of precision and hours of dedication in order to replicate the finest details.
LNER/BR B17/4 4-6-0
The mighty LNER V1/V3 class was a three cylinder large tank engine designed by Sir Nigel Gresley for short, medium distance, stopping, passenger trains. The first 28 V1’s built and numbered 2900~2927 were built between September 1930 and December 1931 in Doncaster. The remaining batches numbered 2928~33, 2897~99, 402/ 4/ 714/ 20/ 22~25/ 28/ 40/ 46/ 51/ 54/ 55/ 61/ 65~67/ 72/ 77~8183~91 & 496 entered traffic between December 1934 and February 1939. The last 10 engines built were fitted with up-rated boilers and classified V3’s entering service during 1939~1940 and were numbered 390~393/395~399 & 401. The class was allocated to depots in Scottish, North Eastern & Eastern regions. The last of the class was withdrawn from service in November 1964.

All of our Ready to Runs are hand built to order as per the customers specification – allowing the product to be completely unique to the individual through personalisation of livery, shed number, name and locomotive number. Using only the finest materials, we pride ourselves on the high quality standards of our locomotives to provide an extremely durable product which is built to last. All DJH Ready to Runs are complete with Slaters motor/gearbox and wheelset. Other impressive features include – fully painted locomotive backhead, real coal used in the tender, working screwlink couplings and fully glazed windows. As an optional extra, you can also add sound and smoke effects to your ready to run for an additional cost.
All DJH models have been designed with an extremely high attention to detail and built to the scale of the original model. During the design process, our Research and Development team examine archived drawings to replicate the most intricate details of the original model – even down to the number of rivets used!
The standard minimum radius is 6ft /1800mm. If you require a lower radius, please specify when enquiring about your ready to run.
Due to the numerous options available when purchasing our Ready to Runs, we like to confirm the details of the order with the customer before starting the build. To enquiry about our Ready to Runs, use the enquiry form found on the product page. Our terms require a 25% deposit payable upon placing the order, with the remaining balance due once the build is complete. Please allow up to 12 weeks for your Ready to Run to be delivered, although we do aim to complete orders sooner.
