All DJH Model Loco kits are designed with an extreme attention to detail and built to the scale of the original model. Our Research and Development team examine archived drawings to gain access to the most intricate details of the original model and replicate this in the model designs – even down to the number of rivets used!
Handcrafted by our incredibly skilled team of modelers, toolmakers and craftsmen, all products are made at our modern factory based in Consett, County Durham. Using high quality materials such as pewter and brass, DJH Model Loco kits are extremely durable and built to last.
Suitable for competent modelers, our K70 kit is supplied with fitting instructions which details the tools required and step-by-step instructions to guide you through the build.
The Duchesses were Sir William Stanier’s last and greatest express passenger engines, handling the top West Coast expresses for almost 30 years. Nos 46220-9/35-48 were originally given streamlined casings but these were later removed. This kit primarily depicts 46229 Duchess of Hamilton as running today in preserved form but any of the other de-streamlined locomotives may also be modelled in late LMS/BR condition.
The kit features cast one-piece boiler/firebox/smokebox with etched cab, smoke deflectors, tender body, coupling rods, valve gear and chassis.
We recommend purchasing our AM9 motor/gearbox and WS K70 wheelset with this kit.
