All DJH Model Loco kits are designed with an extreme attention to detail and built to the scale of the original model. Our Research and Development team examine archived drawings to gain access to the most intricate details of the original model and replicate this in the model designs – even down to the number of rivets used!
Handcrafted by our incredibly skilled team of modelers, toolmakers and craftsmen, all products are made at our modern factory based in Consett, County Durham. Using high quality materials such as pewter and brass, DJH Model Loco kits are extremely durable and built to last.
Suitable for inexperienced modelers, our K53 kit is supplied with fitting instructions which details the tools required and step-by-step instructions to guide you through the build.
The C2 was designed by Robert Billinton and entered service in 1893. 55 of the locomotives were built by Vulcan Foundry and were nicknamed ‘Vulcans’. Although the C2’s were not as powerful as previous versions, they were found to be more reliable and able to run at high speeds – making the class ideal for use on secondary passenger and excursion duties.
The kit includes sufficient optional parts to faithfully reproduce any of the C2’s variants until final withdrawal from service in 1950. Kit features a cast one-piece boiler and one-piece footplate, cast tender and etched chassis and valve gear.
We recommend purchasing our AM10 motor/gearbox and WS K53 wheelset with this kit.
