All DJH Model Loco kits are designed with an extreme attention to detail and built to the scale of the original model. Our Research and Development team examine archived drawings to gain access to the most intricate details of the original model and replicate this in the model designs – even down to the number of rivets used!
Handcrafted by our incredibly skilled team of modelers, toolmakers and craftsmen, all products are made at our modern factory based in Consett, County Durham. Using high quality materials such as pewter and brass, DJH Model Loco kits are extremely durable and built to last.
Suitable for competent modelers, our K45 kit is supplied with fitting instructions which details the tools required and step-by-step instructions to guide you through the build.
The 8Fs were for thirty years a mainstay of heavy freight operations on LMS lines stretching from London to the Scottish borders. They frequently worked through to other regions’ metals and a number were for many years allocated to the Western. For such a large class (a total of 666 in BR days) there were very few detail variations and the DJH Model Loco kit depicts a typical 8F with riveted 4000 gallon tender.
The kit features cast one-piece boiler/firebox/smokebox with etched cab, tender body, coupling rods, valve gear and chassis.
We recommend purchasing our AM9 motor/gearbox and WS K45 wheelset with this kit.
