LNER/BR A3 4-6-2 (with corridor tender) were named after famous racehorses, Gresley’s thoroughbreds were the mainstay of East Coast expresses for more than forty years.

The DJH Model Loco kit captures the elegance of these celebrated locomotives. Though featuring exceptional levels of detail and alternative parts to cover most major design changes, the kit is designed to be a pleasure to build and incorporates a number of features aimed at speeding and simplifying the assembly process from the one-piece cast footplate that cuts out the need to form complex reverse curves to the fold-up cab which comes in a variety of configurations to suit your chosen period.

This particular kit has the corridor tender fitted to members of the class that were diagrammed for use on non-stop Amglo-Scottish services. The level of detail in the Cartazzi axleboxes and other fittings has to be seen to be believed and yet these are for the most part single-piece castings that can easily be glued or soldered in place on the footplate.

Chassis, valve gear etc are as per the usual DJH Model Loco specification.
