All DJH Model Loco kits are designed with an extreme attention to detail and built to the scale of the original model. Our Research and Development team examine archived drawings to gain access to the most intricate details of the original model and replicate this in the model designs – even down to the number of rivets used!
Handcrafted by our incredibly skilled team of modelers, toolmakers and craftsmen, all products are made at our modern factory based in Consett, County Durham. Using high quality materials such as pewter and brass, DJH Model Loco kits are extremely durable and built to last.
Suitable for experienced modelers, our K301 kit is supplied with fitting instructions which details the tools required and step-by-step instructions to guide you through the build.
BR Standard Class 2 were the smallest of the BR Standard designs and could be found in many parts of the country, especially in country districts of Wales, Scotland and the North of England. In total, 65 locomotives were built in this class at Darlington works.
With its one-piece white metal boiler and firebox, the kit is designed for easy assembly and the complex shape of the footplate is formed from a single casting. The cab and tender body (with its distinctive tender cab) are folded up from etched brass and the boiler ‘plumbing’ features some exceptionally fine representations of the valves and manifolds.
The robust chassis is etched in 36 thou brass while the coupling/connecting rods, valve motion and slide bars are soldered up from multi-layered nickel silver.
We recommend purchasing our GB40L motor/gearbox and WS K301 wheelset with this kit.
This kit should be built with the locomotive numbers 78000-78064.
