Handcrafted by our incredibly skilled team of modelers, toolmakers and craftsmen, all products are made at our modern factory based in Consett, County Durham. Using high quality materials such as pewter and brass, DJH Model Loco kits are extremely durable and built to last.
Suitable for competent modelers, our K18 kit is supplied with fitting instructions which details the tools required and step-by-step instructions to guide you through the build.
This steam locotmotive was the first 4-6-0 wheel configuration in the British isles. 15 were built in 1894 by Sharp, Stewart & Co. with the locomotive numbers 103-117. The class was later given the classification 4F by LNER with the locomotive numbers 17916-17930.
Typically designed for freight and goods, the ‘Jones Goods’ was also used as passengers trains in seasons of high traffic such as summer.
The lines of this powerful and beautiful locomotive of 1894 are superbly recreated by this excellent kit, which features: one piece boiler, smokebox and firebox, optional buffers, handrail knobs, etched coal rails and coupling rods, etched H.R cab side no. plates and LMS/B plates.
We recommend purchasing our AM10 motor/gearbox and WS K18 wheelset with this kit.
