All DJH Model Loco kits are designed with an extreme attention to detail and built to the scale of the original model. Our Research and Development team examine archived drawings to gain access to the most intricate details of the original model and replicate this in the model designs – even down to the number of rivets used!
Handcrafted by our incredibly skilled team of modelers, toolmakers and craftsmen, all products are made at our modern factory based in Consett, County Durham. Using high quality materials such as pewter and brass, DJH Model Loco kits are extremely durable and built to last.
Suitable for competent modelers, our K66 kit is supplied with fitting instructions which details the tools required and step-by-step instructions to guide you through the build.
Designed by F.G Smith following inspiration from seeing the LSWR H15 (K34). Due to a shortage of draughtsmen, the loco was drawn by the NB works at Cowlairs for 200. Six locomotives in all were built by Hawthorn Leslie of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne with the first being ready in 1915 and the last being withdrawn in 1945.
This kit features one-piece cast firebox/boiler/smokebox and a one piece footplate and cast detail parts. Etched cab, tender superstructure, chassis and valve gear.
We recommend purchasing our AM10 motor/gearbox and WS K66 wheelset with this kit.
