All DJH Model Loco kits are designed with an extreme attention to detail and built to the scale of the original model. Our Research and Development team examine archived drawings to gain access to the most intricate details of the original model and replicate this in the model designs – even down to the number of rivets used!
Handcrafted by our incredibly skilled team of modelers, toolmakers and craftsmen, all products are made at our modern factory based in Consett, County Durham. Using high quality materials such as pewter and brass, DJH Model Loco kits are extremely durable and built to last.
Suitable for experienced modelers, our K303 kit is supplied with fitting instructions which details the tools required and step-by-step instructions to guide you through the build.
A post-war design perpetuated into BR days, Charles Fairburn’s handsome passenger tanks could be found on both the Southern and North Eastern Regions as well as on virtually all ex-LMS lines.
In this equally good-looking model the cab, tank and bunker sides are in etched brass with full rivet detail while the core of the bodywork – boiler, firebox and footplate – is formed from just a handful of major components cast in whitemetal. The builder-friendly chassis is etched in 36 thou brass while the coupling/connecting rods, valve motion and slide bars are nickel silver.
The kit features a large number of fine detail parts cast in whitemetal or lost-wax brass.
We recommend purchasing our GB30R-3M motor/gearbox and WS K303 wheelset with this kit.
The locomotive numbers for this train are: 42050–42186 (LMS), 2187–2299 (BR) and 2673–2699 (BR).
