All DJH Model Loco kits are designed with an extreme attention to detail and built to the scale of the original model. Our Research and Development team examine archived drawings to gain access to the most intricate details of the original model and replicate this in the model designs – even down to the number of rivets used!
Handcrafted by our incredibly skilled team of modelers, toolmakers and craftsmen, all products are made at our modern factory based in Consett, County Durham. Using high quality materials such as pewter and brass, DJH Model Loco kits are extremely durable and built to last.
Suitable for experienced modelers, our K300 kit is supplied with fitting instructions which details the tools required and step-by-step instructions to guide you through the build.
The BR Standard Class 2 2-6-2T is a post-nationalisation development of the LMS Ivatt Class. Thirty steam locomotives were developed in this class – twenty of which ran on the London Midland Region routes and ten which were intended for Southern Region lines.
Designed to be as easy to build as possible, the DJH Model Loco K300 kit features:
- a one-piece white metal boiler and firebox
- a single casting for the footplate
- etched brass cab, tank and bunker sides with fine rivet detail
- a host of lost wax detail fittings including vacuum pipes, whistle and smokebox door handle
The bolt-together chassis is etched in sturdy 36 thou brass while the more delicate coupling/connecting rods, valve motion and slide bars are in nickel silver.
We recommend purchasing our GB40L motor/gearbox and WS K300 wheelset with this kit.
This kit should be built with the locomotive numbers 84000-84029.
